Last night, CarFest officially launched the planning phase for its highly anticipated 2025 event with a memorable kickoff dinner at Andretti Indoor Karting & Games.
The evening brought together key community partners, sponsors, and special guests to celebrate the exciting journey ahead, and to reveal new and impactful collaborations for CarFest 2025.
Strengthening Community Ties with Nonprofit Partnerships
We are thrilled to announce two new partnerships with incredible nonprofit organizations—Beat AIDS and Thru Project. These partnerships are at the heart of our mission to make a positive impact on the San Antonio community, particularly in providing support to those in need.
A Partnership with BEAT AIDS
We are working closely with BEAT AIDS, an organization that is relentless in its efforts to reach and support individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. Led by the vision of Mel Johnson, BEAT AIDS takes pride in meeting people where they are, offering resources and education in various communities, from recovery centers and homeless shelters to correctional facilities and marginalized areas.
One of our first joint initiatives is the repair of a vehicle that has been out of commission for over a year. This vehicle is essential for transportation services provided by BEAT AIDS to those in need. By bringing this vehicle back to life, we hope to enhance their ability to reach more people and expand their mission.
Empowering Youth with Thru Project
In addition, we are honored to partner with Thru Project, an organization dedicated to helping youth who age out of the foster care system. Their mission is to bridge the gap between foster care and adulthood, ensuring that young individuals have the support they need to build successful, independent futures.
Thru Project provides youth aged 14-25 with rent-free housing, mentorship, mental health support, life skills workshops, and more. CarFest will play a vital role in securing a vehicle donation that we will repair and present to one of Thru Project’s nominated individuals. This vehicle will provide reliable transportation, which is crucial for fostering their independence.
A Night of Fun: Go-Kart Racing at Andretti’s
Of course, the night wouldn’t have been complete without some fun and friendly competition. Our attendees had a blast competing in a go-kart race, and we want to congratulate our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for their driving skills! A big thank you to Andretti Indoor Karting & Games for their fantastic race setup and hospitality.
With the launch of our 2025 planning, we are looking forward to making this the most impactful and exciting CarFest yet. Our partnerships with Beat AIDS and Thru Project are just the beginning, and we can’t wait to see the community come together for another amazing event.
